About

Schoolwork is an iPad app that helps teachers create and send assignments, assessments, and announcements, while giving students one central place to see what's due across their classes, submit work, and follow their own progress. The work covered two areas: a navigation overhaul that introduced an iPad sidebar to make wayfinding clearer and the app more robust as it grew, and an assignment creation flow that gave teachers a structured way to build activities and assign them to a whole class or to individual students. The shared thread was information architecture: organizing a feature-dense teaching tool around the handful of actions a teacher reaches for most, and the flows that connect them.

Alongside the feature work was a visual design refresh and a design library built on modular, atomic design principles. The library broke the interface into reusable building blocks that compose up into larger patterns, giving the app a consistent visual language and the team a faster, more dependable way to assemble new screens as Schoolwork expanded.
